Bring Learning to Life at Sheffield’s National Emergency Services Museum
What: Museum visits for school groups.

Where: National Emergency Services Museum, West Bar, Sheffield, S3 8PT
Who: Early years to key stage 4.
Looking for an inspiring educational visit that students will never forget? The National Emergency Services Museum offers hands-on learning that brings history and real-life stories to life.
Housed inside the country's first purpose-built combined Police, Fire and Ambulance Station, our Victorian building and museum offers a unique opportunity to explore the very building where emergency service personnel once lived and worked together. Step inside historic vehicles, try on uniforms, discover police cells and uncover stories of bravery, innovation and public service.
Our exhibitions explore a wide range of topics, from policing and crime to lifesaving Coastguard rescues, life as a paramedic, childhood during the Blitz and experiences on the front line during the First World War.
Our learning team delivers engaging, curriculum-linked workshops and character-led sessions in our exhibitions. Whether you are studying history, PSHE, local heritage, the Great Fire of London, life safety or the people who help us, we create an unforgettable educational experience.
From Early Years to Key Stage 4, there's something to inspire every age group, including brand-new workshops launching in September 2026 and constantly updated exhibitions.
