Useful research

To help partners, we often share research into arts, education, culture and heritage.

At times, we also conduct our research.

Create Sheffield has recently commissioned two pieces of research that had a focus on equality, diversity and inclusion.

You can download both reports below.

Creativity for All

January 2024

This report was researched and created by the Voice & Influence team. The team are all care-experienced young people from Sheffield and are emerging experts in gathering the voices of seldom-heard young people. They asked children and young people in the more deprived areas of Sheffield what they thought arts and culture was, what it meant to them and what they would like to see more of in the future and where.

The report includes interviews with young creatives in the city as well as recommendations for what needs to change. You can read more about what Create Sheffield is going to do to make these changes here.

Exploring Arts & Culture for Children and Young People in Sheffield

December 2023

We asked Brightbox consultants to benchmark the current Create Sheffield partner pool as well as explore how to expand this pool in an inclusive and accessible way. They sought to establish who was working with children and young people and using arts, culture and creativity in the city, and who wasn’t already a Create Sheffield partner. We wanted to understand what those people and organisations would want, and need, from a partnership with Create Sheffield. You can read more about being a Create Sheffield partner here.
