Create Sheffield partners are organisations and practitioners who share our commitment to increasing, improving and equalising cultural opportunities for children and young people in the city.

Partnership is free and open to those working across the arts, cultural, community and education sectors who align with our mission.

Through the network, partners connect, share opportunities, collaborate and contribute to a collective voice and improved visibility for creative and cultural education in Sheffield. By coming together, we can do more together.

We are currently developing the way that we support and work with educational, community and strategic partners - if you’re interested in this kind of partnership, please contact us first.

This agreement invites partners to:

  • Contribute positively to the network by sharing their work and engaging where possible

  • Share information that benefits the wider ecosystem

And requires confirmation that they:

  • Have appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures in place for direct work with young people

  • Are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion

  • Manage personal data in line with UK GDPR

  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments and meet relevant health and safety legislation

  • Hold appropriate public liability insurance (and employer’s liability insurance where applicable)

How to apply:

If you are an arts and cultural freelancer or organisation and are interested in becoming a Create Sheffield partner, please:

  1. First read the one-page Partnership Agreement, which covers safeguarding, EDI, health and safety expectations and more. Ensure you understand and agree. If you’re unsure about or have questions about any aspect - for example, having a safeguarding policy - don’t worry, please contact us first to discuss.

  2. Complete our partner sign-up form, sharing information about your organisation and your work with children and young people. If forms aren’t for you, please get in touch to arrange a different format. As part of the form, we’ll ask you to confirm that you have read and agree to the Partnership Agreement. We also ask you to share information for a partner profile and tell us your preferences for staying connected.

  3. We’ll review your application and, where we’re unfamiliar with your work, we will request a reference relating to your engagement with young people and potentially also contact you for an informal chat about what you do. We aim to contact you within 2 weeks of your application to confirm it has been received and tell you next steps.

  4. Once your application is confirmed and reference received (if relevant), we’ll email you to welcome you to the network, and let you know that we have uploaded your profile to our website and added you to our email lists for updates and invites. We will invite you to fill out an anonymous Equal Opportunities Monitoring form. We also invite you to share the new partnership on social media, and we will do the same.

If you are interested in becoming a strategic, community or educational partner, please contact us for a chat about how we can work together.
