About Create Sheffield

Create Sheffield is the city’s Local Cultural Education Partnership – a small but ambitious charity on a mission to connect every child and young person in Sheffield with inspiring creative and cultural experiences.

We bring together artists, cultural organisations, schools and communities to spark creativity, unlock potential and make Sheffield a truly creative city for every child.

With our brand-new 2025–2028 strategy ready to launch, this is a brilliant time to join us as we step into an exciting new phase of growth and impact.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated, organised and creative Project Coordinator to join our team and help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

You’ll work closely with the Manager to deliver our core work, with a strong focus on digital communications, partnership engagement, event coordination and day-to-day operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is confident juggling tasks in a busy, purpose-led environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Communications & Content Creation

  • Plan, create and manage engaging content for our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook – and possibly more!)

  • Keep our website up to date:

    • Upload partner profiles

    • Share partner news and opportunities

    • Add content to our news section

  • Draft and send regular newsletters via Squarespace

  • Promote Create Sheffield’s values, events and partnerships through high-quality, eye-catching communications

  • Design visuals and graphics using Canva for social media, outreach events, and creative projects, in line with our brand guidelines

  • Support the planning, promotion and delivery of occasional outreach events, creating relevant digital and print content as needed

  • Produce visual assets for wider projects, campaigns and partner activity where appropriate

Partnerships & Engagement

  • Be the friendly first point of contact for new partners – guiding them through onboarding and updating our partner database

  • Plan and coordinate our popular ‘Connecting Creatives’ networking events (held every six weeks)

  • Build strong relationships with local cultural partners, schools and creatives

Admin & Operations

  • Monitor and manage the central Create Sheffield inbox – responding to enquiries and forwarding messages as needed

  • Organise quarterly Board meetings – including preparing documents and taking accurate minutes

  • Support basic financial admin and bookkeeping tasks (with support from our external provider)

  • Help maintain clear, well-organised systems and support the day-to-day running of the organisation

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience managing social media channels and website content

  • Confident using Canva or similar tools to create branded visual content

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and work independently

  • Proficiency in digital tools such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

  • A collaborative, positive attitude and willingness to pitch in across a small team

Desirable

  • Experience in the charity, arts, or education sectors

  • Familiarity with Sheffield’s creative and cultural landscape

  • Experience supporting events

  • Some understanding of basic bookkeeping or a willingness to learn

  • Interest in accessible communications and inclusive design practices

Why Join Create Sheffield?

  • Be part of something exciting – we’re launching our new 2025–2028 strategy and there’s lots of creative energy ahead

  • Work closely with a small, passionate team that values collaboration, flexibility and purpose

  • Play a central role in building Sheffield’s creative landscape for children and young people

  • Enjoy flexible, hybrid working and a supportive environment that encourages creativity and growth
