What: Behind the scenes roles for young people

Who: age 14-18

The Spring Gala Concert is Sheffield Music Hub’s biggest event of the year, taking place at the Octagon Centre on Sunday 19th April 2026. It will feature all their wind bands, choirs, and orchestras, with over 300 young musicians performing together in a spectacular massed ensemble.

In response to feedback from their youth-led initiative Voice for Youth, Sheffield Music Hub are offering exciting behind-the-scenes roles for young people aged 14–18 who are not performing in the concert. Roles include:

  • Lighting Op Assistant

  • Audio Visual Assistant

  • Technical Assistant

  • Stage Management Assistant

  • Assistant Host

  • Comms/Social Media Assistant

These roles offer valuable experience for anyone interested in music or creative industries and will strengthen CVs, job applications, and personal statements.

Applicants must be able to:

  • Attend three planning meetings in person at The Foundry Studios on Brown Street. These will start in January and will be on Wednesdays, 4:30–5:30pm, dates TBC.

  • Attend an interview in person at The Foundry Studios on Brown Street on either Wednesday 12th November or Wednesday 19th November, between 4–7pm (interviews will last 30 minutes)

  • Attend the Gala Concert on the 19th April 2026
