Whether you’re just starting to think about employment, are studying or are simply keen to try something new, October’s week-long ‘CraftLab’ will introduce you to a range of heritage crafts, with a focus on metal and pewterwork. You will meet local makers, visit them in their workshops and find out how they have built their careers. QEST Youth Board members Ana del Rio and Elizabeth Jarvis will be on hand throughout the week to share their journeys in heritage crafts, offer advice and provide practical tips on how to build your career as a maker.
With thanks to National Lottery Players, you will work with Forge Four Blacksmithing and a silversmith at Studio Budgie Galore, tour Sheffield’s Cutlers’ Hall and the factory at Wentworth Pewter, work with metal artist Morvarid Alavifard and learn about scissor-making from Ernest Wright.
