What: Theatre classes and workshops

Age: 6-16 year olds
Utopia Theatre’s Youth Academy is for children and young people aged 6-16 who are interested in theatre and performance, and would like to learn about African Theatre traditions and theatre made by artists from the African diaspora.
The Youth Academy is a place where young people’s ideas lead the show; it's about making friends, getting creative juices flowing, and learning how to bring imagination to life.
Classes and workshops are held every Thursday evening 5pm-7pm, and introduce participants to the world of African Theatre. Utopia Theatre works with the young people to support and encourage the skills needed to be part of Youth Academy performances.
Sessions are open to everyone, whether you’ve acted before or not. All we ask is for you to bring your enthusiasm, whether you want to learn about being on the stage or behind the scenes. All children and young people are welcome.

Classes and workshops are free, and Utopia can support with travel costs too.
There are limited spaces, but if the classes are full there is a waiting list.
