Who: Ages 16-25
Showroom Cinema, Sheffield, will lead a regional partnership in the British Film Institute’s (BFI) flagship skills programme for young people aged 16-25.
The BFI Film Academy Yorkshire and The Humber will deliver free filmmaking Introductory Courses, ongoing mentoring, and career development support from 2026-2029.
Across the region, 320 young people aged 16–19 will have the opportunity to take part in Introductory Courses. The first wave will run from October-November 2026. Applications are open now (follow the link below to find out more and apply).
The scheme improves pathways into the creative sector, in-line with the Sheffield Culture Strategy’s target of accelerating young people’s access and participation in the arts.
