The Kaagaz Project

Nisha Lall

The Kaagaz Project (meaning 'paper') was a pilot multi-arts project that engaged young people and families, locally and internationally, with the arts on the theme of the impact of the Partition of India in 1947.

Our documentary showcases the fantastic work done by the participants over the six weeks online programme. The film is also part of the Sangam Festival programme and was included as an official event of South Asian Heritage Month.

The project was in collaboration with Creative Directors Nisha Lall and Salma Zaman. The project was funded through the Arts Council and crowdfunding and supported by Whitworth Gallery, Partition Museum, Kala Sangam and Lawrence Batley Theatre.
