Joint launch of website and #HomeAdventures

Create Sheffield

We are delighted that the Create Sheffield website is finally live! Our website is pivotal in building a movement across Sheffield. We hope that every young person aged 0-24 is able to access creative learning opportunities and fun things to do in our city. A website in which young people, parents & carers, creative organisations and those working in education or the community can access activities, stories, events and information is one of the ways we will reach that goal.

We ran a joint launch of our website and our #homeadventures, alongside the app and website launch from 50 Things to do Before You're Five on the 24th April. The partnership with #50ThingsSheffield was warmly welcomed as a way to best support children, young people and families with fun and creative learning activities to do on lockdown. We are excited that children of all ages (and those young at heart) are able to draw on these free resources during this challenging time at home.

What Councillor Abtisam Mohamed, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills had to say about the launch of these two resources…

This fantastic new website and app comes at a time when families really need extra support and ideas for play and learning. I can’t wait to see the fantastic home adventures the children and young people across Sheffield take part in over the next few weeks.

We have had such a great response from our #homeadventures so far, but would really love more people to test them and give us feedback. If you know any lecturers, teachers, parents & carers, youth workers, and facilitators who might be interested in testing some fun #homeadventures for us and even writing their own to feature on our website, please do let us know.

Other fantastic things on our website..

Alongside our #homeadventures we are continually collecting activities, news and information for our Lockdown Resources page. Do let us know if you would like us to include something in this list.

Our wonderful Partners each have a profile page with information about the work they do with children and young people in Sheffield. Some have provided Stories which we have loved sharing across our city. Do take a look and tell us what you think.

Our Engage With Us page has information on different ways you can get involved with Create Sheffield for those working in education, parents and carers, young people, arts & cultural organisations, artists and creative practitioners.

If you haven't already, do follow and engage with us on our social media pages. We would be really happy to share news and activities related to creativity and learning in our city. We are on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

Finally, we want to get our Events page packed full with events suitable for families for the summer and coming year. Do let us know if you think something should be included.
