June 2022 – December 2023

Create Sheffield is delighted to be part of a cross-Yorkshire pilot programme, exploring how place-based learning can build the cultural capital of children and young people.  Delivered by Create Sheffield, Sheffield Curriculum Adventures is funded by IVE, with additional support from Sheffield Museums and Sheffield Hallam University.

The pilot project is based in Shirecliffe with the Parkwood family of schools, and since June we have been setting up the first pilot project to start in the autumn term.  This one is going to focus on bringing the Y3 Rocks and Soils curriculum to life.  In 2023, we’ll also work with Y1 Materials and Recycling and Y7 History.  There’ll also be creative projects working with families and nursery-aged children under 5.

Each of the projects will involve a team of Sheffield Hallam University student researchers, and result in a free to access Sheffield-based curriculum resource that all schools will be able to use.  We will keep you up to date as things progress!
