CPD Session - Y3 Rocks and Soils: Teaching Through Stories

Join us for a free CPD session and discover how to make rocks and soils an exciting, engaging topic based in your local area.

Create Sheffield has collaborated with storyteller Carmel Page and teacher Gemma Eden from Watercliffe Meadow Primary, to create an interactive ready-made unit that brings the Y3 Rocks and Soils topic to life.

By using simple story telling techniques, including recall and retell to embed knowledge, children will be able to remember many more scientific concepts as well as key vocabulary.

This project is part of the SHEFFIELD CURRICULUM ADVENTURES programme, exploring how we can turn lessons into adventures. This initiative is supported by IVE, the ACE Bridge organisation for Yorkshire and the Humber, Sheffield Museums and Sheffield Hallam University
