Yorkshire Natural History Museum
We are a small museum dedicated to making local palaeontology and prehistoric life accessible to the public, as well as an active research facility on the specimens in our care. We specialize in fossils found in Yorkshire and the wider UK, with many on loan from across the world on display.
People are more than welcome to visit and have a tour of the main gallery, as well as see documentaries in our film room and our free all ages lectures on Saturdays. Booked groups receive more specialized guided tours, show-and-tell in our theater room (with the opportunity to hold genuine fossils!) and, soon, the Laboratory experience in which we will teach you how to excavate and prepare specimens for display.
