Yorkshire Artspace
Yorkshire Artspace provides studio space to around 170 artists and makers across two studio sites in Sheffield city centre.
As well as providing affordable workspace we’ve been involved in engaging people of all ages with art and artists, making and production for over 25 years. Helping to inspire the next generation of artists and craftspeople.
Our OPEN STUDIOS event is our annual opportunity to invite the public into our buildings to see what goes on behind those studio doors. Taking place on the 3rd weekend in November each year, it’s ideal for;
• Older young people who are thinking about or already involved in pursuing a CREATIVE CAREER in visual arts, design or craft - to be inspired and to meet and talk to professional artists & makers.
• Over the last few years we have offered bespoke tours to Longley 6th Form College students - this is something we are very interested in extending.
• For accompanied younger children we offer free family workshop activity at both venues.
We are interested in CO-PRODUCTION and developing bespoke projects with partners to connect children and young people with artists and makers. Projects can support and extend aspects of curriculum delivery, can have positive impact on health and wellbeing, can include knowledge sharing and skill development for staff and participants alike.
Our GALLERY programme provides potential points of connection and opportunity for engagement and participation. We have flexible SPACES that could be used by schools, colleges, universities, community and wellbeing groups etc for projects/production/workshops and more...
